History
Bringing 700 Years of Craftmanship to the Present Day
Founded in 1953, Ryusen Hamono began as a knife-sharpening business, but was later expanded into an integrated manufacturing factory due to the changing times.
Since then, our business has been operating for seventy years.
Within the production region, we are the first to commercialize stainless steel and have embarked on creating knives for general household use.
In addition, we are producing and developing products with the aim of achieving “high added value.”
While sticking to traditional "techniques" and "handicrafts" that do not rely on machines, and inheriting the techniques of Echizen Forged Knives that have been passed down for 700 years, we are also working on developing products in new fields such as cutlery and stationery.
Characteristic
Easier to Use and More Beautiful
Ryusen Hamono is always striving to deliver “great cutting quality,” "beauty," and "ease of use."
Our blades with their graceful and delicate ripple pattern and our handles made of natural wood have also received high acclaim from overseas.
In recent years, we have started to produce cutlery items such as steak knives as a new branch of products.
As times change, we have transformed the traditional techniques of Echizen Forged Knives into items that are closely linked to modern life.
In addition, we have continued to make our products easier to use and more beautiful, while striving to develop functionality and form that corresponds to their unique purpose of use.

For Customers
We Hope to Deliver Joy and Wonder to Our Customers
It is our pleasure to deliver products that bring joy and wonder to our customers' daily lives.
While preserving the traditional smith forging and hand-sharpening techniques of Echizen Forged Knives, which boast a history of 700 years, we are working every day to create new products, with the aim of achieving great cutting quality, beauty, and ease of use.
Please rest assured that we also undertake maintenance work such as re-sharpening.
Going forward, we will continue to create products that make everyday cooking and meals more enjoyable.
