Be a single-minded challenger.

If I had to describe our history at Ujien in one word, it would be "challenge".

We were founded in 1869 as a Japanese tea merchant in Kyoto.

After taking on the challenge of wholesaling and processing, we took on the challenge of retailing when we moved to Osaka in 1941.

Today, retailing from producers to consumers is not unusual, but at the time it was a revolutionary challenge.

Since then, the company has been constantly taking on new challenges, such as opening stores in department stores, entering the food and beverage industry such as cafes, and challenging overseas markets.

At the root of these challenges is the "single-minded focus on Japanese tea" that we have maintained since our founding, and above all, our desire to "make people love Japanese tea more.

We will continue to challenge ourselves to make new proposals that meet the needs of the times, while carefully preserving the tradition of Japanese tea.

Healing with tradition, inspiring with innovation.

By processing carefully selected tea leaves with the knowledge and skills we have built up through our single-minded focus on Japanese tea, we are able to deliver teas that are easy to drink and never get old.

For example, the deep-steamed Japanese tea, "Okame" is made with a focus on the following four aspects: richness, color, heat, and taste.

The mild and unique sweetness and aroma of the tea will not only moisten your throat, but also your heart, making you feel relaxed and comfortable.

In addition, the bottled Japanese tea "Gotas" is the result of our challenge.

Instead of being caught in the image of Japanese tea being served in a teapot, we propose a style similar to enjoying a toast with champagne or a meal with wine.

The fragrant and flavorful Japanese tea poured into a wine glass is a gem that can be enjoyed in marriage with a variety of dishes.

How about treating those who don't like alcohol, or as a gift for foreign people?

We hope that the traditional taste and new ways of enjoying Japanese tea that we pursue and propose can be incorporated into your own lifestyle.

For Customers

Don't miss out on the goodness because it's so familiar.

We think that Japanese tea is a very familiar tradition that is indispensable for Japanese people.

Because of this familiarity, the streets are filled with tea in PET bottles that can be easily enjoyed.

because of this familiarity, we may not take a second look at its goodness.

We believe that the aroma and taste of Japanese tea can quench your thirst, moisten your heart, and add color to your life.

At the same time, we believe that it has the potential to be enjoyed in a variety of ways.

We will continue to preserve the traditions of Japanese tea while proposing new ways to enjoy it.

We hope that you will enjoy our products and feel the goodness of Japanese tea again, and that you will come to love it more.
