It is one side of Bizen ware.

Bizen ware has fine pores on its surface, and the air contained in it enhances the aroma of sake.

After molding one by one with good quality clay and drying it, it was baked as it was without painting or glaze.

Since the pattern appears naturally depending on how it is packed in the kiln and the temperature of the kiln, there are no works with the same pattern and color.

All of them are one-of-a-kind items, so many people buy more than one and enjoy the difference.

Please enjoy the whole work by all means.

Ceramist who keeps on challenging

I was born in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture in 1971.In 1997 I began studying pottery making under Taisetsu Sueishi, a Bizen Ware ceramist .

After studying at Bizen Pottery Center in 1998, I studied under Taisuke Sato in 1999 and became independent in Furano City, Hokkaido in 2001.

From 2001 to August 2016 I made pottery in Hokkaido and moved to Asakuchi City, Okayama Prefecture in 2016.

In 2017 I built a hole type kiln and removed my first works from it.

Wherever I go, I keep challenging myself to convey the charm of Bizen Ware through my works.

Bright "Orange Color"

By using a hole type kiln we can reduce the amount of smoke than using a climbing kiln.

As a result, the orange color stands out in the finished products and that is the main features of my pottery.

The clay of Bizen Ware, which schrinks very well by baking, enables us to make tableware which is thin, light and good for everyday use.The clay also has an affinity for water and that's why I make a variety of kitchenware.

The Bizen Ware, whose color is determined by the amount of smoke and ash, can have various colors and texture depending on how you fire ceramics in the kiln.

It would be appreciated if you could enjoy the unique tone of color that differs one from another.
