History

Inheriting 360 years of history and traditional skills

After working in Kyoto, I returned to my hometown to study pottery at the Kutani Institute of Technology in Ishikawa Prefecture.

After graduating, I worked for six years in the pottery studio of Shohachi Yoshida, a member of the Kutani Yaki Technique Preservation Society, before setting up my own studio.

Since 1988, I have been a member of the Japan Federation of New Craftsmen.

Characteristic

The depth of color in Kutani Wares

I create my own unique mixtures of colors, especially reds, which produce unique colors.

I have also received high praise for my technique of painting with thick layers of paint, which produces detailed patterns on teacups.
