【NEW ARRIVAL】HAMAMONYO|YOKOHAMA PRINTING

Hamamonyo was founded in 1948 as a Yokohama textile printing factory in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture.

Yokohama was the place where trade began as a result of the trade treaties signed by the Edo Shogunate, which opened ports to other countries.

Japanese woodblock print craftsmen gathered here, and the mix of their foreign knowledge gave birth to Yokohama textile printing, which is full of originality.

Yokohama is blessed with a climate and water resources that produce vivid colors, and Yokohama textile printing, in which delicate patterns are hand-dyed by molds, has become famous as a major local industry.

Hamamonyo tenugui are made of carefully selected cotton fabrics, paying particular attention to texture and material.

Skilled techniques are required to express the beauty and depth of unique colors in "human- and environment-friendly bleaching" that does not use harmful chemicals.

The traditional techniques and craftsmanship that have been handed down over the years have been used to create interesting and beautiful dyeing of Japan's four seasons and culture.

We hope you will enjoy and incorporate them into your daily life.
