【NEW ARRIVAL】SEKKI SHINGO TAKEUCHI|SETO WARE

Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, is one of the world's leading ceramic towns with a history of over 1,000 years.

Because of the abundance of high-quality clay as raw material and pine trees for firewood, Kato Shirozaemon Kagemasa (Toshiro), one of the founders of pottery in Japan, began to make pottery here in the Kamakura period (1185-1333).

And Shingo Takeuchi, the creator of “Sekki,” was born and raised in Seto City, where pottery is very familiar.

After working as an office worker, he studied at the Aichi Ceramic Vocational Training School, and then studied under Shuntei Kato II.

In 1982, he became independent and created his original stoneware, “Stoneware.

Stoneware is fired at high temperatures without glaze, and the more it is used, the deeper and more moist it becomes, which is why it is also called “pottery that can be nurtured.

We hope you will experience the charm of this one-of-a-kind pottery, which is unique to each and every one of us.
