This is a Ceramic bowl of Kyoto's pottery, Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki. All processes of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery are done by hand. For this reason, they are highly rare and valuable ceramics whose techniques have been carefully passed down from the Azuchi-Momoyama period to the present day.
Tohken-gama, which manufactures these plates, is a relatively new brand established in 2002. While skilled craftsmen continue the tradition of Kiyomizu-yaki, young artisans are taking on the challenge of creating new products.
