설명
Echizen lacquerware with a "whirlpool pattern" incorporating the Ainu style!
This product is a collaboration between TOKO Shusei, an artist from Akanko Ainu Kotan, and Rokurosha, an Echizen lacquerware manufacturer in Fukui Prefecture.
The lacquerware is shaped like a high pedestal, with a motif of "tuki," a ritual tool of the Ainu tribe, and is decorated with an Ainu design representing morew (= whirlpool in Ainu language) in maki-e lacquer.
It is recommended as a souvenir for foreigners or as a gift for those who love Japanese history and traditional crafts.
We now offer two types of bowls and cups.
The bowls can be used as a vessel for various soup dishes, including ohaw, the traditional Ainu soup.
Please feel free to use them together with the cups at your daily dining table.
