歷史
日本第一鑄器城鎮－高岡
高岡銅器源於1611年，加賀藩二代藩主前田利長為振興產業，從鄰近鄉鎮招集七位鑄造師，在金屋町設置了鑄器工廠。
最初是以製造鍋、釜等器具或鋤頭與鍬等農具為主，而後為符合時代需求開始製作各式各樣的商品，漸漸地高岡便成為日本全國知名的鑄器城鎮。
能作則是創立於1916年，製作佛具、茶具與花器等為主，事業逐漸蓬勃發展。
然而不久後遇到生活型態轉變與景氣低迷等困境與瓶頸。
但也因此開始往自家製品的方向推進，展開了全新挑戰。
特色
突破框架的使用者觀點
發想契機是在2001年東京舉行的展覽會上。
聽取銷售員的建議，在黃銅製搖鈴綁上小紙條製成風鈴，推出後每月銷售超過上千個，大受歡迎。
還有為了因應「希望能製作餐具」的顧客需求，一般都會用錫結合其他金屬加工製作以增強硬度，但能作運用「活用錫能彎曲的特性」的發想，誕生出業界首創「可彎折餐具」。
自此，能作特別著重開發符合使用者心聲的商品。

傳遞「理念」與「心意」的觀光產業
能作不僅製作「物品」，更是致力於傳遞「理念」與「心意」的觀光產業。
以觀光產業為主軸的新工廠於2017年設立，2018年即突破十萬人數蒞臨參觀。
除了能參觀工廠用五感感受傳統工藝的職人技術，還可以體驗製作鑄器、或在咖啡廳用能作的餐具品嚐在地料理等，是個能透過觀看、觸摸、學習，愉快體驗的地方。
有機會請一定要到現場實際體驗及領會能作的理念與職人技術奧秘。
