History
Specialist in interior design for 100 years
Interior Fukuta was founded in 1913 in Tottori City as Fukuda Goza-ten, which dealt in tatami mat materials.
The company later expanded its sales network throughout the prefecture, but was forced to close its business after the Tottori Earthquake in 1943 and the Tottori Fire in 1952 caused extensive damage.
However, in 1959, the third generation, Shuzo Fukuda, took over the family business and began manufacturing and selling tatami in 1964.
In 1969, the company began selling interior products and undertaking interior work.
Currently, our staff of qualified technicians, including nationally certified first-class technicians, interior coordinators, and interior decorators, work hard every day to ensure that our products are finished with care and beauty.
We will continue to devote ourselves to helping you with our reliable skills.
In addition, as our original product, we have developed a compact Tatami Mat In Perfect Fit that can be carried on your shoulder.
We hope that the unique comfort of tatami will be known not only by people in Japan but also by people overseas.
Characteristic
Tatami mats made of Japanese paper that can be used as souvenirs
"Tatami Mat In Perfect Fit" is a light and sturdy tatami mat that we, who have been dealing with tatami materials since our establishment, have brought to you.
Even if your house does not have tatami, you can create a tatami space by simply placing it anywhere you like.
We want more people to enjoy the texture of Tatami for a longer period of time, so we adopted Japanese paper for the Tatami surface, which is resistant to slipping and abrasion.
Compared to other types of paper, washi has longer and stronger fibers and is more hygienic and resistant to mold.
In addition, tatami made with washi can be brought back to countries where rushes cannot be imported, making it an ideal souvenir for people overseas.
Taking advantage of the performance of washi, which is comparable to that of rush grass, first-class tatami production technicians use the traditional ladder stitching method to create a tatami that is as thin as possible.
We hope that through "Tatami Mat In Perfect Fit", you will become familiar with tatami, a flooring material unique to Japan.
For Customers
Lie down and feel "Japan" with your whole body.
"Tatami Mat In Perfect Fit" uses a light and sturdy material for its core.
When laid out in a rectangular shape, the long side is 33.07 in. (84cm), smaller than a standard-size tatami, making it small enough to be carried on board.
It can be carried in a special bag.
We recommend this product not only for foreigners who want to enjoy the texture of tatami after returning to their home country, but also for those who want to casually incorporate tatami into their interior design.
Although it is compact, even large people can lie down on it, so please relax and unwind on this Tatami.
We hope you will feel the traditional Japanese culture with your whole body through the gentle touch of Japanese paper.
