"Tohken Gama" is a Kyoto-based kiln founded in 2002, specializing in Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery.
Originally, pottery made in Kyoto was known by the name of each individual kiln. Over time, the names "Kyo-yaki" and "Kiyomizu-yaki" became established and are now collectively used for Kyoto's representative pottery traditions, carefully passed down through generations.
At Tohken Gama, skilled artisans carry on traditional craftsmanship, while younger makers bring fresh ideas to create pieces that complement modern lifestyles.
We are pleased to introduce a selection of new products and new colors. Designed with everyday usability in mind, these pieces offer thoughtful details that make everything from serving food to cleaning up easier and more enjoyable.
We invite you to discover and enjoy these new Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pieces, created through a blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary sensibilities.
