Owari cloisonne is a craft produced in Aichi Prefecture. Its main characteristic is the wired technique in which silver wire is applied to the outline of the design.

KATO SHIPPO SEISAKUSYO opened its workshop in Nagoya in 1948 as an Owari cloisonne kiln.

The second generation has been in the business for about half a century, and in 2010 became the first to be certified as a traditional craftsman in the Owari cloisonne technique.

The third generation, also a traditional craftsman, has inherited the skills cultivated over many years, while aiming for a new form of Owari cloisonne enamel ware.

Please check out the exquisite cloisonne enamel ware that has added a new sense to traditional techniques and will not fade away even after more than 100 years.
