Otani ware is a pottery with a history of about 230 years, made in Otani, Oasa-cho, Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture.
Yoshimigama has been in operation for 75 years, and as the third generation potter, I am currently producing pottery using "yakijime pottery," which is fired without glaze, "yohen," which changes in the kiln to produce interesting colors and patterns, and "kaiyu," which is made from the ashes of plants and trees.
I am obsessed with creating the best possible product, and I painstakingly create all the way through to firing. I hope you will enjoy the comfort and warmth that clay has to offer.
