History
Craftsmen of the Iga Wares Tradition
In 1991, I began training as a potter in Kasama, Bizen and Shigaraki, and in 2008, I established my own kiln in Iga City.
I have inherited the tradition of Iga Wares, which is said to have originated in the Nara period, and I make gray-glazed ceramics.
Characteristic
Tableware with the voice of the earth
I make gray-glazed ceramics.
I dig clay from Iga with a pickaxe and bring it to the studio by truck.
The glazes are all natural materials and I make them myself.
The color and texture varies depending on the nature of the clay, but the rough texture is powerful and has a strong presence, making the food taste better.
For Customers
Please feel the warmth of the craftsman's heart.
I make handmade, warm tableware.
Every piece of glazed tableware is handcrafted, so each piece has a different look and feel to it.
Please hold each dish in your hand and enjoy the feelings and shapes that have been put into them.
The design of the tableware is so simple that it is easy to use in daily life and makes you feel happy and relaxed when you put it on the table.
Please feel free to use it.
Will also make a great gift.
