Tradition and skill inherited for more than a thousand years ago

Our brand was originally founded by Hyakutaro Ohiri in 1951.

"Kyoji" refers to the experts on bookbinding originated in Nara Era, 710 A.D..

With the Japanese mind of using an item as long as possible and the tradition of bookbinding by Kyoji experts have allowed the old books from ancient times to be preserved in museums today.

The skills possessed by Kyoji are essential for preserving and repairing important cultural properties, enabling books to transcend times and eras.

Characteristic

Authentic products that grow old with you

Traditional items with the highest authenticity grow old with you: its best condition is not when it's freshly made, but after spending long years with you.

Slowly getting used to the owner and the environment, the quality of traditional craft items get higher and higher.

This is the biggest differentiation from nowadays mass-produced goods: their best conditions are when they are brand-new, and they end up being broken after a few years.

Japanese binded books enhance their quality, as they go through many readers' hands.

"Yachiyo Tsuzuri", is the products created by the collaboration of such traditional bookbinding experts Kyoji and the product design company "TAKI PRODUCTS".

With the motto of "making goods that make people want to tell others about it" on our mind, we collaborated to create this photo album, which can grow old with you for more than 100 years.
