History
Japan's "Cool" as Seen from Traveling Around the World
WAJIN Art T-shirts Japan is located in a 150-year-old private home in Nishi-Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, in a rich natural setting.
At the time of the founding of the company, many Japanese people were moving toward Western culture, and T-shirts almost always incorporated English logos and Western-style drawings.
I traveled abroad for a long time and came into contact with the unique culture of each country I visited.
And once again, I realized that Japanese culture is "cool" and that it is a waste that many people have not yet noticed it.
In 1995, in my apartment in Suginami Ward, Tokyo, I started producing T-shirts in the form of traditional Japanese beauty, and in 2002, I began selling them as souvenirs at Narita International Airport.
Although it was a small effort, it created an awareness of our responsibility to help disseminate Japanese culture.
After moving our workshop to Shizuoka, we opened an online store for overseas customers and began wholesale sales to retailers in the U.
S.
, Australia, and other countries.
I intend to continue to convey the appeal of Japanese culture both domestically and internationally.

The Spirituality Behind Japanese Manufacturing
I believe the beauty of Japanese culture lies in its attitude toward craftsmanship.
Carefulness, delicacy, and consideration for the user.
I would like to create products that value not only the design but also the attitude as a craftsman.
First of all, the T-shirts are sewn by Kume Textile Industry from 100% hand-spun cotton made in Japan.
This long-established manufacturer was the first in Japan to produce T-shirts as outerwear, and they are a group of craftsmen with a wealth of knowledge and unique skills.
Everything from design to printing is done by hand by us.
The prints are hand-drawn with a warm touch of traditional Japanese beauty.
Each piece is silk-screen printed one by one using water-based ink.
Water-based ink dries more quickly than oil-based ink, so the process must be done in small quantities and with a lot of time and care.
Especially for dark-colored fabrics, a large amount of ink is used to print in order to improve the coloring, but while oil-based ink becomes stiff and uncomfortable to wear, water-based ink gives a softer texture and is a very environmentally friendly method.
For Customers
Please enjoy Japanese culture more freely.
WAJIN Art T-shirts Japan is active in valuing the traditional beauty of Japan, the beauty of style, and the culture of craftsmanship that takes manufacturing seriously.
We also want our customers to enjoy the free spirit and newfound interest in Buddhist paintings, ukiyoe prints, and other paintings that have been handed down through the long history of Japan.
These T-shirts are carefully made with the wearer in mind, aiming for an expression that pushes the space in the back of the mind with excitement.
We are confident that you will be satisfied with the comfort of our T-shirts, as we have taken great care in everything from the materials to the printing.
They can be worn by men and women of all ages, both for everyday wear and as a bit of fashionable clothing, so please use them as gifts for your loved ones.
