K+ Takayoshi KumagaiTakayoshi Kumagai

It is a vessel that you can feel the fun of following the manufacturing process!

The production process of Oil Drop Tenmoku is represented by five.

(Approximately one month's process) Red clay + white makeup + oil drop Tenmoku (inside) + oil drop Tenmoku (outside) + gold wire cover, soft curve and industrial straight line coexist. It is finished in a nice shape.

As the name "BEAK BOWL" suggests, there are beaks on the front and back of the bowl.

The length and angle of one mouth are adjusted so that when these bowls are lined up in a row, they will be neatly arranged in a series.

Collaboration with designers

Founded in 1935, Satoshi Kumagai Shoten, which has produced many original Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki in Kyoto, launched the "K +" brand in 2014.

K means "Kyoto", "Kumagai", "Kyoto ware", "Kiyomizu ware", + means collaboration with designers and artists.

We aim to create innovative ceramic products that have never been seen before, disseminate them to Japan and the world, and make our customers feel joy in their lives.

Challenge to make the first wind chime

Ryo no Oto was created in collaboration with designer Issey Miyake.

When I lightly hit the product that was originally developed as a tea set, I heard a good tone that I couldn't say anything about.

From such a coincidence, I decided to challenge a wind chime that I had never made in the past.

When inspecting the vessel, we put the second joint of the index finger on the vessel to check if it is cracked or cracked, and the sound is heard.

Depending on the condition, we distinguish between defective and non-defective products, and sound is usually a part of our work.

The flower crystals are made of porcelain and the black rust is made of porcelain.

For Customers

Enjoy the difference in texture between porcelain and pottery

White flower crystals are beautiful pottery with flowers on the surface.

Flower crystals are also called zinc crystals, and are a mysterious glaze that creates a pattern like snowflakes when the zinc oxide contained in the glaze cools.

In order to make beautiful crystal flowers bloom, it is necessary to finely control the temperature in units of 1 degree, and it is a task that often relies on the intuition that comes from the experience of craftsmen.

Each crystal has a different appearance, and a one-of-a-kind product is completed.

Black rust was developed from the point of "let's make a tea set that fits an iron kettle".

There is a golden glossy part in the iron color of the surface, and the surface is uneven, so a three-dimensional effect is also created.

A chic, calm atmosphere.
