Description

Ominato Bunkichi Shoten Yosuke OominatoYosuke Oominato

This Japanese Kumiko lamp is made purely from high-grade Japanese Akita cedar Wood.

"Kumiko zaiku," or Kumiko bamboo work, is a technique typically reserved for high-end fittings. For this lamp, a design called "Mitsukude" is woven with a traditional Japanese pattern called "asanoha" (hemp leaf).

Using kumiko techniques on a three-dimensional object such as this lamp allows you to enjoy Kumiko not only on the surface of the lamp but also on the walls around the lamp. The light that shines out from the frame creates a truly mystical ambiance in the room.

Ominato Bunkichi Shoten was created during the "Hyakunen no Monogatari" (one-hundred-year story)project in Niigata Prefecture, under the guidance of Masayuki Kurokawa, who comprehensively practices in a wide range of fields from architecture to products such as this.
