This masu cup (small) from the "Ki no Sachi" series is made of Miyako Somagi, a high-quality wood produced in Kyoto.
Since ancient times, the number "8" has been considered auspicious in Japan, and the octagonal shape is favored by many people as it attracts good luck from all directions.
